Des Buckingham is the evens favourite to take over at Swansea City next

Betting odds continue to be offered on the next Swansea City manager after Luke Williams was dismissed on Monday and bookmakers have a clear favourite in the market to take over next.

Former Oxford United manager Des Buckingham is the evens favourite to become the next Swansea boss with his odds putting him well ahead of everyone else in the market.

Buckingham has been without a managerial job since he left Oxford United in December 2024 and two months on from that could be back into management at Swansea.

BetVictor's latest market gives a 50% implied probability that Buckingham becomes the next manager of the Swans with some big names following behind him in the market.

Luke Williams sacked after 7 defeats in 9 Championship games

Swansea City parted ways with boss Luke Williams on Monday after just 13 months in charge with their recent form seeing them dragged closer to the relegation places.

Chairman Andy Coleman said, "Unfortunately, since the turn of the year our performances and results have not been of the standard required at this level. Ultimately, that has led us to conclude a change is required in order to bring about an improvement in our showings on the pitch."

With just 13 fixtures remaining this season the Swans find themselves in 17th place in the Championship table.

Swansea now just eight points clear of the relegation zone

Swansea's struggles this season have seen them slip closer and closer to the relegation places in the Championship and their odds have now been slashed into 10/1 to be relegated.

In truth, the Swans may be helped by the poor form of teams below them this season rather than how they have been playing themselves.

They will know though that a continued bad run will see them fall closer and closer to the relegation spots in the Championship at the end of the season.
