Dembele Surges to Ballon d'Or Favourite After UCL Glory with PSG

The 2025 Ballon d’Or race took a dramatic turn at the weekend, with Ousmane Dembele now 4/11 favourite with UK betting sites following his Champions League-winning performance in PSG’s 5-0 demolition of Inter Milan.

The French winger delivered a dazzling display on club football’s biggest stage, helping seal PSG’s first-ever Champions League title in style.

His dominant outing has now seen him leapfrog former favourite Lamine Yamal, who drifts to 7/2 with bet365, in the Ballon d’Or betting market.

With the Club World Cup still to come and the Ballon d’Or panel notoriously swayed by major tournament form and silverware, Dembele’s timing could not be more perfect.

What the expert says...
Dembele’s performance on Saturday was elite. With a Champions League title now on his CV, he’s the Ballon d’Or frontrunner for a reason. The 4/11 reflects real market confidence.

Market change sees Yamal drift

Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal had seen his odds slashed into 6/4 favourite to win the Ballon d'Or last month but he has since drifted following PSG's win.

Yamal's price drift reflects both the setback of missing out on European silverware and Dembele's display in the UCL final where he put a shift in defensively as well as in attack.

With Barca not featuring in the Club World Cup, the tournament is a good chance for a player to head to the top of the market for the Ballon d'Or.
