  Novak has not won since Sept last year off a 71 at 7f in C5 and has been on a falling mark since. In May he started to show some return to form with a second here off a 64, followed by a closer third off the same mark. While he was a bit midfield in the latest run, that was at 1 mile. I think that today's 61 and being in C6 at 7f could finally work.

  Star Cast can't be ignored. She has had six wins this year. The latest two were when stepping up to C4. The first of those was in June at Chester, winning by 7L. The latest won by over 2L under Jake Dickson, who claimed 7 lbs but has taken on 5 lbs for that last win. Jake only claims 5 lbs today, which is a net rise of 7 lbs. This 4yo could still have more to come, though.

  Mano Chicago (6) returned from a long break in April and has been placed second in three of the five runs so far, including just one handicap run in April when 5/16 and just over 3L away from the winner off an 86. He has now changed yards and rider and dropped to a 78 for this return to handicaps. Worth an each-way 4/1.

  Kingdom Of Stars (10) changed yards in January and has spent all but one of his runs hurdling. In June he did have a return run on the flat, finishing an encouraging fourth off a 75. He has now dropped to a 74, which puts him on the same mark as his last win here in July last year. He will be all the better for that latest run. EW 4P
